Virgon -An Educational Story

   "I will see what I can do." said Ms. Bork.  She then went to the door behind her and opened it a crack to inform Dr. Swindall of his visitor. 

    Just about that time Mandy pushed her way past an astonished Ms. Bork and said to Dr. Swindall, "You just have to give me my degree I have earned it and no one hear seems to understand."  Although the shock on Ms. Bork's face was still evident, Dr. Bork waived her back to her desk and motioned for the troubled student to sit in the chair across from his desk. 

"Please start at the beginning.", He said.  Little did Mr. Swindall realize, telling Mandy to start at the beginning was like lighting a fire under the trailer for Bill's Fourth of July Fireworks Stand. 

    I have taken English three times here and so it is clear that I know the subject.  It is the only course I need to graduate.   The Dean said that I had to get a "C" or better for it to count.  I got a "D" twice.  That should count for a "C" don't you think?  (Mandy continued without a pause.) Not only that since I paid for the course I should have credit for the course.  This course is keeping me from graduating and nothing should keep me from graduating.  Not only that, my dad ins an English Professor at the University of Troy.  So you see I have been around English all my life and I certainly don't need to take this course over again.  In addition, I wrote the Galactic Movie Script for "Alien Invasions of the 4th Kind".  It is not my fault that "Disney Space Studios" stole the script and made it into a movie.  I am going to have to sue them to get my royalties.  They owe me millions.  Nevertheless, given that I wrote that, surely you can give me credit for my degree. 

    Stuart Swindall began in his best soothing tone.  To Mandy, it sounded patronizing.  "Now, Mandy, if the grade was a 'D" then that is not sufficient for you to graduate in a core general education course.  The dean sounded correct in his assessment. 

    "But what about all that stuff I told you." she retorted.

    "As well and good as all that is, even impressive, none of it gets you a "C" in English.  You will just have to retake the course and earn the grade to graduate."  Said Stuart. 

    At that moment Mandy took her purse up from the floor and set it on the desk between herself and the college President.  While Mr. Swindall looked on in confusion,  Mandy took out the tampon Ms. Bork had given her and laid it on the desk, then she took out a scissors.  With some effort she removed the tampon from the applicator itself and cut off the sealed end with the scissors.  In spite of hearing Mr. Swindall ask what she was doing, she worked in silence, preparing for some sort of demonstration.
